WHITE WATER RAFTING
Over the years Nepal has become one of the best destinations in the world for white water rafting. Our best rafting season: Mar-May and Sept - Nov. White water rafting trips take place in the various snow - fed river of Nepal. All the major rivers of Nepal are used for rafting such as Narayani, Trisuli, Karnali and Saptakoshi for 1 to 10 days. Some very exciting rapids will be encountered as well as some mild rapids which are quite safe for you to swim, enroute to lunch stops or at the camping sites.
Lunch will be on one of the many beaches along the river where you will have time to relax and enjoy the scenery. Camp for the night on one of the beaches in tents, where you will enjoy a cooked meal and your rafting guide will tell you what to expect the following day.
Depending on how far you are prepared to travel and the amount of time you wish to enjoy such river rafting adventures will depend of the
"Put in" and "Pick up" points.
A bus will take you to your starting point and will follow you down the river to meet you at your overnight points. After your trip you will be taken back to Kathmandu or to Chitwan National Park, you may wish to experience the excitement of a jungle safari can camp with its many activities.
KALI-GANDAKI, BHOTE-KOSI, TRISULI RIVER GRADES
Whitewater rivers have an internationally recognized grading scale. The scale is as follows:
KALI GANDAKI 3 DAYS RIVER GRADE III-IV
The holly river !
The Kali Gandaki rivers headwater begin in Mustang, flows through the roof top of the world and cuts the deepest gorge on earth between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The trail of the gorge was used as an ancient trade route to Tibet. The village people sometimes visit us on our camping beaches. The river is awesome, with continuous wild rapids waiting for you on the 80 km. stretch (Nayapul to Mirmiray).
BHOTE KOSI 2 DAYS RIVER GRADE III-IV+
High Adventure for Adrenaline Junkies !
The Sherpa Society takes you on the steep rapids of the Bhote Kosi, the most action - packed short rafting trip available.
The Bhote Kosi is situated in the eastern part of Nepal, and is noted among the steepest. Most technical and challenging river in the country. It is recommended as a maximum adventure trip for those looking for an intense rafting experience, or those with a limited time schedule as it packs a remarkable amount into a two day adventure of a lifetime.
TRISHULI 1-2 DAYS RIVER GRADE III-IV
The Trishuli, draining the snow melt of the Ganesh and Langtang Himal gains its name from the lord Shiva's three - pronged spears (trident). There are 10 major rapids on the Trishuli river, grading 3 to 4. Trips last one day up to three days, and are possible because the highway follows the river. This river is recommended for beginners who wants the taste of the exciting high rivers of Nepal.
