ROLWALING SUMMITS
Grade: 2
Duration: 19 to 29 Days
Max. altitude: 6,187m

This expedition to Rolwaling should appeal to those who wish to climb among spectacular mountains while avoiding the more frequented Himalayan regions. Possibility to climb the snow peaks of Ramdung (5,925m) and Parchemo (6,187m) and cross the Tesi Lapcha (5755m) into the Everest region.

Rolwaling is a hidden corner of Nepal, its long valley penetrating deep into the impressive mountain scenery lining the Tibetan border. The pristine and unspoilt character of the valley makes it a very special place which has deeply impressed our past climbers. An added bonus is the descent through Namche Bazaar, capital of the Everest region.

Ramdung is a long, low angled snow climb, steepening for the final section. A high camp, probably on snow, will be used before the summit day. Parchemo gives a shorter, but more challenging climb, finishing with a rope-length of steep snow leading to a pointed summit. The views take in both the Rolwaling and Khumbu peaks, including Everest.

Two peaks and a high pass in one of Nepal's most magnificent regions.
